GENERAL INFORMTION REGARDING GRADES AND CGPA

Award of Grades
The performance of all the candidates in all courses shall be evaluated on a 10 point scale with corresponding grade values as mentioned below:

Calculation of CGPA

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is arrived at by dividing the sum of the products of Grade Values and the Course Credits in each subject by the total number of credits in all the subjects. (Note: The course credits for each subject may be checked from the website under ‘About the Course - Course Structure’ under the relevant programme.)

Minimum marks for pass and grade

A candidate to be successful should obtain a minimum of 50% marks or the equivalent grade, i.e., B in every subject. (Note : The total marks for each subject is 100.)

Repeat / Supplementary Examination

However, the candidate who fails to obtain the minimum grade (i.e., B) shall be given chance(s) to re-appear for the examination whenever the same is conducted till the completion of the maximum period, i.e., two years from the date of admission in case of Advanced Diploma Programmes and four years from the date of admission in case of M.A. Programmes, on payment of repeat / supplementary examination fee and the continuation fee as prescribed. (Repeat / Supplementary Exam / Project Submission Fee : Rs. 500/- per subject. Continuation fee to be paid after completion of the minimum duration : Rs. 5,000/- p.a. for M.A. Programmes; Rs. 3,000/- p.a. for Advanced Diploma Programmes.)

No candidate who has cleared the subject by securing 50 marks or above is allowed to re-appear in the examination for improving the marks / grade.

Note : A communication along with the link for registration and payment of fee for the repeat / supplementary examination and / or project submission will be sent to the candidates by email along with the Repeat / Supplementary Examination Schedule in due course.

Procedure for Re-evaluation

The candidates desiring of re-evaluation have to apply in writing along with the re-evaluation fee (Rs. 1,000/- per paper) within 15 days from the date of declaration of results. On the receipt of the request for re-evaluation, the paper would be sent to subject expert other than the evaluator and the results of the same will be communicated within 45 days. A change in the original score shall be made only when, upon re-evaluation, the change is FIVE marks or more. The Re-evaluation result is final and there will be no further appeal to the same.

No candidate who has cleared the subject by securing 50 marks or above is allowed to re-appear in the examination or apply for re-evaluation for improving marks / grade.

Note : Candidates who were awarded ‘zero’ marks / less marks due to plagiarism and /or copying are not eligible to apply for re-evaluation.

Award of the Advanced Diploma Certificate

The candidates who have secured 50% marks or ‘B’ grade in all the subjects obtaining atleast CGPA of 5.50 out of 10.00 are eligible for award of the Advanced Diploma Certificate. The Transcript of Grades and the Advanced Diploma Certificate will be awarded to the candidates after the Convocation of the University. A communication will be sent to the candidates with regard to the procedure for award of the Diploma, once the University decides the date of the convocation.

Additional information regarding re-submission of projects in case of M.A. Programmes & Advanced Diploma Programmes (Semester Pattern)

NA – Not Allowed for the exam due to shortage of attendance, in case of M.A. Programmes
WH – Withheld due to non-submission of projects / assignments / case study

  • The result of the candidates who have not submitted the projects / assignments was declared as ‘WH’ (withheld) even though they have secured 50 marks. To clear the subject, candidates should submit the project / assignment / case study without fail.
  • Candidates who have submitted the projects / assignments/ case study but awarded ‘zero’ marks due to plagiarism and / or copying / other reasons should re-submit the projects / assignments / case study after payment of the repeat examination fee.
  • Candidates who have not submitted the projects but secured good marks in the end semester examination may submit their projects after payment of the repeat examination fee, to clear the subject and they need not appear in the repeat (end semester) examination, if they are sure of clearing the subject with the marks to be secured in the projects.
  • To appear for the end semester (repeat) examination and also to re-submit / submission of the project, candidates are required to register and pay the requisite Repeat Examination Fee for each subject. The link for registration and payment of fee for the repeat examination and / or project submission will be sent to the candidates along with the Repeat Examination Schedule in due course.
  • All the details are provided under ‘About the Course’ under each programme but some of them are re-iterated for your ready reference. All are requested to go through the details provided on the website.
